I was out quite a bit last week as it was my birthday week! I tried a few new to me restaurants and wanted you to know that my Charleston guide is fully updated with every new to me spot that I tried. Today, I am off to New Orleans for the rest of the week with one of my best friends. I have been so excited for this trip and am really looking forward to it. I went years ago when I was in my twenties (and probably had a very different experience!). If you have any recs, leave ’em in the comments section.

Have a great time in New Orleans! Cannot recommend dinner at The Mosquito Supper Club more (local, communal tasting menu ). Celebrated a birthday there in 2018 and still talk about the meal! Also, Turkey and the Wolf is great for a more casual bite. Bon voyage!
LOVE New Orleans! Have the best time. One of my favorite restaurants in the city is Shaya. It’s further up Magazine St, so away from some of the craziness. It’s intimate and cozy and has amazing Israeli food. It’s a great option when you need a break from some of the heavier, typical NOLA fare.
Even though it’s popular and a bit touristy, I love stopping at The Carousel Bar at Hotel Monteleone. It’s so classic New Orleans and the bar is a fun novelty.
I also love popping into Krewe to try on sunglasses. They only have a couple of B&M stores scattered across the country so it’s fun to go in person.
Have so much fun – can’t wait to read all about it!
Second Bacchanal! BEST charcuterie and vibes. Loved. Magazine St has great shopping/local boutiques. Shaya for Israeli food on Magazine st. Frenchman St for great jazz!!! Way better than Bourbon.
I echo all these reccs. Louisiana girl here!
I loovvvve Krewe – was so fun going into their store!
What a fun week of dressing up! Happy belated birthday, Grace! I was in NOLA in January and a highlight was Cochon and it’s sister restaurant Peche – both were amazing. Have a great trip!
NOLA reccs….Dinner: GW Fins (personal fave), Bywater American Bistro, Peche, Shaya for interesting Israeli food.
Lunch: Elizabeth St Café for lunch at the new St Vincent Hotel. Green juice is not on the menu but it’s really good!
Drinks: Bouligny Tavern (can do dinner next door at Lilette first), Carousel Bar (have a French 75), Bar Marilou is real cute, Bacchanal is a bit off the beaten tourist path but wonderful for a bottle of wine & music (their food is also pretty good), Hotel Peter and Paul
Other: Walk in Audubon park or Crescent Park, ride the St Charles streetcar, do 25 cent martini lunch at Commanders Palace (weekdays only) and wander the graveyard across the street after. Swamp tour is touristy but surprisingly fun.
Thank you! We went to so many of your favs: loved peche, bywater, commanders, marilou, and elizabeth street!!!
Those rainboots are SO fun. And that black dress! The hair, the shoes, so good.

R’evolution is where I had one of the best meals of my life. Incredible service, food and an even better wine list! This is a splurgey meal but you can get a glimpse into the experience at their bar if you want a more casual vibe. We took my brother here for his 21st birthday and need to make plans to return one of these days.

Other favorites: The Carousel Bar at the Roosevelt Hotel (where the Ramos Gin Fizz was invented), A Garden District Tour, beignets at Cafe du Monde, among others!
Enjoy!
Love New Orleans. Enjoy!
Our faves: https://cochonrestaurant.com/

And, of course, the beignets & coffee at Cafe du Monde. Yes it’s touristy, but for a reason. We waited on line for it to open in the morning & was worth it.
We loved peche!!!
I loved my time living in NOLA and so many great recommendations already but here are mine – Bacchanal (2nd or 3rd what is said below!), Cochon, Vyoone, N7, R’evolution, Cafe du Monde (but skip the ridiculous line for a table and go to the to-go window) Grab your hot beignets and then snag a casual place to enjoy them with a French Truck Coffee mmmmmm enjoy it’s a lovely place!!
Great outfits, and enjoy New Orleans! Question – what’s your Saturday lip color? It’s gorgeous and perfect for fall! Thank you xoxo
It’s the new Beauty Pie Unlipstick – my FAV bc it feels like nothing on your lips. This color is Strike While It’s Hot, which is a really nice warm red. Reminds me of my discontinued NARS heat wave!
I just wanted to say I LOVE your outfit recap posts-I have always gravitated to your blog/instagram for outfit inspiration for years now (I just turned 40 and find I need even more outfit tips!). I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer, had a double mastectomy and was not a candidate for reconstruction, so dressing my new body is a challenge, and I find your dress ideas and outfit combos are always a bright spot for me. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for the note!
