Whenever my skin is feeling dull or tired (common for me during the holidays!), I reach for Vitamin C. It is one of my favorite ingredients for mornings as it immediately brightens my skin, leaving it glowy and radiant. First impressions:
This moisturizer is lightweight and sinks in immediately. The texture is amazing – it’s almost a little bit bouncy, like a gel. I like that it absorbs so quickly and has more of a matte finish. I will add that I have really dry skin so like to sometimes top it off with a couple drops of the Squalane + Vitamin C rose oil.
Product Ingredients and Benefits:
The formula itself is packed with antioxidants. You already know about Vitamin C. It defends the skin from the environment, brightens the look of skin, and promotes collagen production. But it also contains fermented lemon peel, which is a natural alternative to leading chemical brighteners. It works to brighten and even out skin tone. Lastly: squalane, which you probably know all about my now if you’re a long time reader. Squalane is Biossance’s signature ingredient (naturally derived from sugar cane!), providing instant hydration and locking in moisture.

No, it does not! Out of the jar the fragrance is a little funny (I think the fermented lemon peel has a bit of a sour scent) but once it’s on my skin it smells like nothing

Honestly, I mix it up depending on how my skin feels when I wake up. Here are a few scenarios.
Sometimes I use this after cleansing and toner (the Biossance toner is my FAV) and nothing else.
Sometimes I will use the copper peptide serum before this for a little extra plumping and hydration.
And if my skin feels really dry I’ll do the copper peptide, then this, then the rose oil!
You can totally do the dark spot serum (an awesome vitamin c serum) before but I don’t find I need to do that as I don’t have dark spots, more just overall dullness! Hope that helps!
