Sobel Skin RX Bio Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cream Review

When it comes to skincare, particularly my daily moisturizer, I am a pretty tough crowd. You know how much I adore Dr. Bader’s Rich Cream.  And that is still my holy grail but it’s expensive! I’m always trying out other products, hoping to find something I like even almost as much. I’m a big fan of both Weleda Skin Food and this Kiehl’s moisturizer but those are both pretty simple, basic moisturizers. I’ve been trying to find something a bit more high-tech… a bridge between those and Dr. Bader, if you will. And I talked about this a little bit during the Sephora Sale but I am thrilled to tell you I’ve finally found it. Something I like *almost* as much as Bader, for a fraction of the cost. It’s the Sobel Skin RX Bio Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cream.

Sobel Skin (founded by Dr. Howard Sobel, the famed New York City dermatologist) makes products are cruelty free and CLEAN (they meet the clean at Sephora standards!) but also contain powerful, potent pharmaceutical grade ingredients with a patent pending SD100 base that increases the absorption of the active ingredients and stabilizes the skin barrier. Dr. Sobel is highly respected so I had been eager to try the line but was still shocked by how much I loved this cream. His products have been clinically tested to transform and rejuvenate the skin without prescription, by “re-training” the skin to feel, look, and act younger.

All Sobel Skin Rx products are formulated with clean, safe ingredients, cruelty-free, free of fragrance, parabens, phthalates, sulfates. And each of the products (including the oligo peptide eye cream, the 4.5% retinol night treatment (the most expensive product) and glycolic acid peel) are under $125 while also containing highly concentrated active ingredients. I want to try the whole line – right now, I’ve also tried their 27% glycolic acid facial cleanser which I thought was nice but nothing special.

Sobel Skin RX Bio Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cream Review

I love this moisturizer so much. It is a pro-level hyaluronic acid moisturizer and on par with some of the most expensive creams I’ve tried. It is thick and creamy but sinks in immediately, delivering long-lasting hydration. I do wish it were in a pump and not a jar but that’s a personal thing for me…. we’ve talked about that with Olay and it’s still wild to me that most women prefer a jar format! What I love about it is how hydrating it is – it’s amazing for dry skin and leaves skin feeling incredible: moisturized, FIRM, plumped up and glowy.

Here are some of the ingredients listed to know about:

Hyaluronic Acid:

HA is one of my all time favorite ingredients. It provides incredible, long-lasting hydration, plumps up the skin, and helps to diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles. I love hyaluronic acid because upon using it my skin feels more youthful and plump. The effect is temporary but it’s noticeable.

Leontopodix Acid:

This is a naturally occurring antioxidant that helps defend against damaging pollutants and free radicals our skin comes across daily due to free radicals and other environmental factors. Also helps to strengthen the skin’s barrier and reduce sensitivity.

Chrondus Crispus Extract:

This is a red algae that helps to provide moisture and comfort the skin. It also helps skin to retain moisture. More info about this ingredient here!

Is Sobel Skin RX Bio Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cream Good For My Skin

This moisturizer is great for all skin types (normal, dry, combination, oily, etc.) That being said, my own skin is very dry and that’s really all I can speak to. It is absolute heaven on dry skin. I would read the product reviews as I did notice a few reviewers said it made them break out. This was not my experience but again – DRY skin over here!!!

How To Use Sobel Skin RX Bio Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cream For Best Results

I would recommend using this morning and night! It’s the perfect everyday moisturizer.

At night

At night, use this after your serums. I love that you can use it after retinol or lactic acid (unlike Bader, which wants to be the first thing on your skin). Just let those active ingredients sit on the skin for 15 minutes or so and THEN moisturize.

In the morning

In the morning, this could go after a serum (I know a lot of you like a vitamin C serum in the AM) but before sunscreen.

the perfect everyday moisturizer

I bought it during the Sephora sale at your recommendation! I love it, so thank you. I’m assuming it can also be worn over Kiehl’s Vitamin C Line Reducing Concentrate?

I also bought this on your rec during the Sephora sale and love it! It’s so dry here now I’ve been slathering it on 3x a day, but it seems like it will last awhile!

Love me some HA – I have suuuuper dry skin too! I am currently using 2 different moisturizers with HA from Garnier (one is a night cream and the other is a little lighter for daytime) that I really like, but they’re definitely on the cheapest end of the spectrum for products with HA, and I may try to upgrade when these run out. Good to have this recommendation in my back pocket!
