For the Best Smelling Bathroom…

I wasn’t really sure what to title this post. Is it a trick? A tip? Does it even warrant its own blog post? I do not know. What I do know is that keeping a few stems of fresh eucalyptus in water in my bathroom makes the whole thing smell amazing. I think the key is that it’s near the shower so the humidity and steam release the aromas of the eucalyptus. It’s the best. Makes the whole bathroom smell like a spa! I buy mine at the local bodega, but have linked a few good Etsy sellers at the bottom of the post.

You can also tie a bundle of eucalyptus to the back of the shower head, as pictured here. This works very well too but makes a mess in my space so this is the next best thing (those living in New York and dealing with tiny bathrooms will understand). So for now, a vase does the job so nicely.

My friend was just reminding me the other day that he remembers coming to visit me at my old apartment years ago and seeing I had hung eucalyptus in the bathroom and explained to him how, with the hot water from shower, it made the bathroom smell so good. I had totally forgotten about that. After his comment, and your post, I have to go out and get some!

I keep seeing this, and wondered if it really worked. If you’re doing it and say it smells good, then off I go to the store for some eucalyptus!

What a fabulous idea! I can’t believe I didn’t think of it for myself – I have 25 acres of Eucalyptus trees. I know what I’ll be doing in the morning.
