All About My Beloved Air Fryer.

GoWISE USA 2.75 Quart Air Fryer Review

Every time I do a Q&A I get asked if I still like/use my air fryer. The answer is YES, absolutely. I bought mine last April and use it nearly every day, or at least a few times a week. I will say that I do not have a microwave in my apartment (very limited counter space!!) and that I chose this one purely for aesthetics – and because my friend Becca had it. It helped that Amazon had nearly 2,000 positive reviews and I’d heard good things about the brand’s customer service and warranty. Important stuff. But also, it’s pretty and it’s a cute + happy yellow (Becca got the pale pink one).

I’ve had mine for a while now and I really like it. Besides being more convenient and healthier than frying with oil, it’s also great for quickly reheating leftovers or roasting veggies for one person!

GoWISE USA 2.75 Quart Air Fryer Review

It’s so easy to use

I can be a bit of an idiot with new appliances and this did not require a lot of figuring out. There are two settings… cooking time and temperature… just set those and GO! The temperature control is really simple and the temperature range is 175F to 400F and you can cook from anywhere to 1 to 30 minutes. Once it’s done cooking, it switches to standby mode. I also like that it has a cool touch handle and button guard so that you don’t have to worry about accidentally burning yourself or dumping out your food. I need idiot proof and this is that!

Rapid air technology

This allows you to bake, grill, and roast with little to no oil.

It’s very easy to clean

The basket is non stick, so even the messiest dishes are easy to clean.

It’s just big enough

The 2.75 qt. capacity is perfect for cooking for one or two people. If you have a family I’d probably recommend something a little bigger but for me it’s just the right amount of food. It can make 8 bagel balls (recipe below) or a heaping portion of vegetables for two people. Again I do not have a lot of counter space so this is important!!!!

How to Use the GoWISE USA 2.75 Quart Air Fryer

one // open up air fryer and spray basket with non-stick cooking oil

Pretty self explanatory, and you can skip this if you are cooking veggies or something where you are already using oil. The basket is non-stick so you don’t need much.

two // add whatever you are cooking!

I’ve included some recipes below but you can also just use it to reheat your food or cook vegetables.

three // set time and temperature controls

The buttons make it so easy.

four // remove and serve!

The cool touch handle and release button make it really easy. I think that’s it! Truly, so easy.

GoWise Air Fryer Recipes To Try

What I use mine for most is to quickly cook veggies (broccoli, brussels sprouts, and asparagus are my go-to’s! I just sprinkle them in some olive oil, salt, + pepper, and cook for around 7 minutes (every vegetable is different, I would just google the veggie you are cooking + “air fryer” and suggested cooking times will come up) but there are some recipes I really love! The GoWise USA air fryer also comes with a recipe book with 50 recipes if you are lacking inspiration. You can prepare a variety of “fried foods,” the sky really is the limit.

One fun quarantine adventure that I highly recommend is finding healthier ways to enjoy your favorite fried foods! (I’d love for you to share your favs in the comments!)

These buffalo chicken strips!

Holy moly these are good. When Becca and I talked about our air fryers on the podcast last Spring, our editor Lindsay immediately emailed us this recipe. They are so good. And easy. I could eat a buffalo chicken salad for every meal if left to my own devices… these are excellent.

The skinny taste bagel balls!

I went through a stage (this summer maybe?) when I was making these bagel balls nearly every week. They are SO good. I cannot recommend them enough. In my opinion, this recipe makes getting an air fryer worth it.. just for these (I also really, really like bagels!) What I usually do is make them Saturday morning, and then save half the dough for another day during the week (or sometimes Sunday). They’re heaven. Pillows of delicious dough. I will say that I use regular fat cream cheese, I’m just not into low-fat dairy (you have to use low fat yogurt or they will be too sticky). For extra credit you could also sprinkle in a few fresh or dried chives.

Liz’s Skinny Chicken Tenders

This is my friend Liz’s recipe and they are delicious, but I like them even better in the air fryer (they’re great baked in the oven but when you air fry them they just get all crispy and delicious! Air fried chicken is such a game changer.

Artichoke Hearts with Garlic Aioli

I made these for my sister’s family and they were a hit. Such a delicious, EASY, and sort of impressive snack. And without the added calories!

French Fries!

I’d be crazy not to make french fries in this and I really like this recipe from the Food Network. It took a bit of mastery but I love them. I like to put a bit of truffle oil and parmesan on mine. YUM. It really is wild how easy it is to make healthier versions of your favorite foods. Cutting the potatoes up is a bit of work but absolutely worth it if you ask me!

PS – My most essential kitchen gadgets (this made the cut!) + my favorite pan!

I have any air fryer now and it stays on my counter. What kind of cooking spray or oils have you used in yours when needed?

I just got this air fryer last week. I love the sunny/cheerful vibe. I also need idiot proof appliances. I got a new vacuum and it took me an hour to assemble it. No shame!

With all due respect to skin care, the airfryer bagel bites were your greatest gift to me during quarantine.

    • Hahahahaha thank you. They are truly just the best. I haven’t made them in a few months and think I need to remedy that this weekend!

I love our air fryer. We mostly use it for broccoli and sprouts to make them crispy and delicious! Also, my husband has turned into this wing maker with it and he loves experimenting with different rubs and sauces. And fries, but we have two kids and we have to use the oven for that because we eat too many at once.

I am trying the artichoke hearts this weekend!

I would like to hear more about the frying part of an air fryer.
I understand one is a convection oven and one is a basket fryer . Which is yours?

I use my oven and my toaster so I don’t need it for veggies, etc.
    . I was reading this https://medium.com/insider/10-things-i-wish-i-knew-before-buying-an-air-fryer-9db23ef5a279

What I am looking for is a way to fry things. Like french fries, or latkes, or zucchini cakes, or chicken wings.

Hi – I am so intrigued by air fryers, but I have a convection setting on my oven. And it seems the concept is more or less the same. Do you have any idea how using the standalone air fryer compares with using a convection oven? TIA!

    2.9.21 Reply
    • I have absolutely no idea, I’m sorry! It seems similar?

    • Lindsay S.:

Hi Cynthia, I can explain 🙂

Yes, an air fryer is super similar to a convection oven. The difference is that because the food is in a basket, the air that’s circulating also gets on both the top AND the bottom of the food, which is what simulates the fried/crunchiness aspect. You could replicate this in a convection oven, but it wouldn’t be the same because if you put food on a baking sheet the bottom of the food would be touching a solid surface (as opposed to something perforated). Does that makes sense/help? They’re absolutely worth it, even if you have a convection oven. French fries at home will never be the same!

I also have the 2.75 GoWise air fryer
I don’t see the recipe for the bagel bites.
Is there also an additional cook book besides the one that came with the air fryer, to purchase?
