Amazon Favorites: December 2022

This month’s list of Amazon finds is rather practical. Is this… midlife? My beloved leaf blower/vacuum. Inexpensive flatware that is perfect for dinner parties. Socks (they are really good socks!). Affordable holiday decor. I am into it though.

I also want to talk about detergent for a quick sec. We talked about it on Instagram stories but man, The Laundress recall really has me sad. I pretty much exclusively used their products until that happened… bougie laundry detergent makes me so happy! I started out trying this one. It’s really nice but not as good as The Laundress. Then I tried this one — the lavender fragrance smells amazing but it’s pretty no frills/hippy-ish. My favorite of all is this one in Diva. It smells… heavenly. A lot of you recommended the trick of mixing a little in with an unscented Tide Pod… genius!

Honestly, any time outside of work this month and last month has been focused on getting the house in order. So this list reflects that. Anyway, there you have it. I am really enjoying this domestic life. I am having a dinner party for ten (my whole family) tomorrow night, I’ve been loving hosting smaller gatherings at the house, and now I seemingly spend every Saturday morning vacuuming up leaves… it’s nice?

First of all, the pebble ice maker is over a hundred dollars off! Read my review here. I love the new dark grey color!!! Nothing is better than pebble ice. Except maybe a margarita and pebble ice!

This teak bath tray is just so wonderful! I have and love it – and it’s half off! Perfect way to take all your beverages (plus a book or tablet) into the tub with you.

This portable carpet and upholstery cleaner is something I reach for constantly. Whether a human spills coffee or wine or a cat has a hairball… it’s a godsend. October’s list of Amazon favorites is short but very sweet! Some really really good things, starting with this iPhone case. I’ve had it for a couple weeks and get countless compliments. I am also ob-sessssssed with this pink clay mask. It deep cleans skin like no other, without drying. Perfect for blackheads, clogged pores, and hyperpigmentation. Also on the masking front; I reupped on the ultra affordable snail masks during Prime Day and remembered how much I love them. A great night of masking would involve the pink clay followed by the snails. My fav combo: a good old fashioned deep cleanse and then something to hydrate!

On top of that, a fun game to play with your significant other (my boyfriend and I broke out a nice bottle of wine and played this and loved it), a great pair of casual boots, and more!

The Amazon Holiday Beauty Haul kicks off today. This is something new that they are doing, where they are offering some big beauty deals today through 11/6. This includes Allure Best of Beauty 2022 Award Winners and more! I just wanted to share a few of my personal picks from the sale as these deals are pretty great.

It’s a shorter list. I had access to the full list of sales ahead of time and to be honest, I think the Prime Day deals were more extensive. BUT there are still some great deals to be had. Amazon Prime Fall Deal Event

On the fashion front there is quite a bit to talk about – all of my picks can be found below… if you are on desktop, hover over the image for why I chose it. This shaker stitch sweater is so classic and chic; could pass for Jenni Kayne. I have these strappy sandals in way too many colors. They are comfortable and if I ruin them out at a bar or on a trip, they aren’t expensive to replace. (They’re also great if it rains: vegan leather.) If you are looking for a great classic trench this one is pretty perfect, and this dress is stunning – I included it in yesterday’s party edit as it would be perfect for a fall wedding without breaking the bank. Also: tennis bracelets! Lastly, I have and love this little pouch clutch. So good.

The beauty deals in this sale are pretty epic (and again, super similar to Prime Day / it’s a great time to stock up!). For me, the highlights would be GrandeLash (read my detailed review here – it WORKS), this amazing lip mask (buy a few and give them as holiday gifts/stocking stuffers), the Elemis cleansing balm, the best best best travel toiletries bag, and Olaplex No. 3 (incredible for dry/damaged hair.. if you highlight your hair it is a MUST!). Oh and white strips, of course!

home & Electronics

This is the best part of the sale if you ask me. First thing is first: the Nugget Ice Machine! I love this thing so much. I wrote a very honest review of it with all of the pros and cons. But I definitely recommend buying while on sale; it only happens a couple times a year. But also: I cannot recommend this carpet cleaner enough. Hair balls from my cat, spilled wine, it has gotten everything out of my rugs and furniture. A true life saver. This was one of my best-sellers during Prime Day and I was excited to see it included in this sale.

Three other things I always load up on: Tide Sticks, my favorite hangers, Stasher bags.

Toys, Games, Books, Gifts, Etc

The holidays feel SO far away, but the reality is that it’s never too early! I’m scooping up Candy Land for my niece and Mastering the Art of French Cooking (a classic!) for my mom and my sister. Also, this NYT cookbook looks promising.

Also on the gifts front, the Coravin Pivot is just $87 with today’s deal. I have never seen it for such a good price. It would make an incredible holiday gift for the wine lover in your life. (If you are not familiar with Coravin, check out my review – it is an incredible way to make your wine last longer.)

Per usual this month’s list of Amazon favorites is a bit of a hodge-podge. Some great fashion and beauty finds, and a whole bunch of random things (ginger juice, an amazing back massager, the best foot file, ETC!) The one uniting factor is that it’s all stuff I really love!

September’s Amazon Favorites

I got some great clothes this month. I liked this cropped cardigan so much that I bought it in black. This oversized cardigan is also awesome and expensive looking. And of course the dress we all need. Such a good one.

On the beauty front my feet were a mess after summer. I lost my foot “grater” for calluses and bought this one (I like that the egg catches the shavings). Afterward, I use the AmLactin foot cream (the GOAT) for baby soft feet. I’m also a little bit obsessed with this face bandage if your face is feeling puffy!) And this eye shadow is the BEST if you like a metallic look… for just five dollars!

Out of all of the things I bought Tyrion for his birthday, this ball toy is the only thing he liked. He loves it and it’s actually not terrible looking? FYI, I have a whole section of Tyrion’s favorite things in my Amazon shop!

Got a few questions on sizing! I would say it runs pretty true to size (maybe slightly small!) I am usually a small or medium in dresses depending on the brand and took a medium in this. If you’re between sizes, go up – that’s my rule with shinier fabrics (especially when they aren’t expensive), you never want them to be tight!

August’s Amazon Favorites

There is lots to tell you about this month. Some great fashion finds, beauty and home goodies, but really: this month, it is all about the towel warmer.

I hate myself a little bit for buying it but I LOVE THIS THING SO MUCH. And yes I know it’s hot in Charleston but my apartment is air conditioned. I love throwing my towel in there for 10-15 minutes while I shower… or (maybe even more indulgently!) putting my robe in it. Such a treat. I know you could do the same thing with the dryer but my laundry is far away from my bathroom, and I always forget.

I also just can’t stop gushing about this little hat clip. As an avid traveler (who has finally found some cute hats that actually fit!), this is a game changer. Just clip it onto any tote and then clip on your hat!

And also: my beloved magnesium salts. I have talked about these in other posts (maybe Aug favorites) but they are heaven on sore muscles AND they smell like a wintergreen lifesaver. Or maybe the brown necco wafer. Unclear.

These are my new $15 sunglass obsession.

A silly thing but truly so helpful: this colander. It slides over the edges of your sink. I use it to drain pasta, let fruit and veggies dry after I wash them, or for smaller utensils and kitchen items that I hand wash.

Lastly, I’ve been working on a story about affordable pajamas (coming at you in two weeks when I am back from vacation). These remind me so much of Olivia von Halle (and come in a giant range of colors) and these green + white stripes are an instant favorite. Both pairs are very TTS, I got a medium in each.

And we are back with a new month of Amazon favorites! I have a lot of really good stuff to share with you this month, so buckle up!

July’s Amazon Favorites

First of all, I have talked about this little white kaftan from Amazon a few times now but wanted to shine a light on it as it has probably been my most work beach coverup. It’s just so pretty! It was sold out for a bit but now it’s back.

This is also a really great coverup. It’s really, really soft! I bought the pale blue. Runs true to size.

You know I love an organized kitchen. I did some stories about my egg drawer a while back and got some questions about it in my DMs. It is so easy to install (fine for renters, it snaps in without any fancy installation: I can easily take this to the new house), and a great way to stay organized. I really like mine. Also amazing on the organization front: this “crazy Susan” for your pantry or under the sink. I love that it has compartments and higher walls.

Also: a really fantastic vegetable slicer. I was influenced by one of my favorite cooking newsletters on this one.

This set is everything. It’s so comfortable and a great price. The top runs a little oversized but you want it that way. I started with the army green and ordered two more colors. I will warn you that it does take a little while (2-3 weeks?) to come but it is worth the wait!

The epilator that Courtney Grow recommended is probably my favorite purchase from Prime Day.

Holy moly. It is so effective. The first time you use it you will want to scream a little bit but it gets easier. And leaves legs like silk. Way better than paying for waxing or dealing with shaving stubble. I’ll have a longer review up in a few weeks.

I also just love this carpet/upholstery cleaner. Great if you have pets who prefer to barf on your nice rugs.

A kind of random thing is these tins of smoked oysters. My boyfriend’s parents always have them as an appetizer when we go over, and I copied. They’re so yummy, and I like anything that you can keep on hand to have in a pinch when people come over.

Happy Prime Day! This is always a big shopping day over here! As an Amazon affiliate, I was given early access to what this year’s deals would look like and I have to say, I think they are really, really good!!! I spent a longggggg time perusing every category (this was fun!) to find you the best of the best. I am really excited about this post.

The Best Beauty Deals

There is definitely a lot to discuss on the beauty front! First of all. I love this mascara from The Honest Company. It is (I believe!) Amazon’s number one clean mascara and for good reason: thanks to the primer, it gets lashes so long and thick! Some things I will personally be stocking up on today: the Elemis cleansing balm, my go-to lash serum (it is everything – read my review!!), and my favorite eye cream from Strivectin.

Best of Clothing + Accessories

There are a lot of great clothing deals too! I have and love this smocked top, these strappy sandals (last seen in this instagram post they are SO GOOD and just $50; I have several colors), and this pretty skirt and this navy dress which I just bought.

Red Clay Special Deals!

I had to include Red Clay here as I am a BIG fan (and investor!). I know I will personally be stocking up on spicy margarita salts. This honey set will blow your mind too though. (The spicy peach is everything!) Everything is up to 25% off.

Everyday Favorites

This is just the stuff I always stock up on. Crest White Strips, toothbrush heads, Sharpie markers… you know, the really exciting stuff! But if you’re going to buy it anyway, you might as well buy while they’re on sale!

Tech, Books, Home, Etc.

I have had my Amazon Alexa (I have the Show) for ages and love it so much. She plays me my music, tells me my weather, looks up recipes, etc. I just added an Echo Dot to the mix, as I can never hear my music playing in the bathroom when I’m getting ready. It’s cool how you can synch them up. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that Black Cake (one of my favorite books of the whole year) was included.

Coravin is also doing a ton of prime day specials; noted below. The Timeless Three is a really good deal. I did a big review of their wine preservation system but I love mine so much.

Also, this books sale. It’s kinda cool. Save 50% off any of these two books when you buy two!

Lastly, PEBBLE ICE! I bought my pebble ice maker last year on Prime Day and it was one of my favorite purchases of the whole year. I use it every day and couldn’t love it more. Today, its $150 off!

This month’s list of Amazon favorites is a very good one! Besides the green dress + heels featured above (both are winners!), there is a lot to chat about. And as always this is only things I’ve personally tried, tested, and personally love. There’s one exception: this lamp because it’s beautiful, under $100, and I get a lot of requests for affordable home decor so want to share a good find when I see them!

June Amazon Favorites!

The Snail Mucin Essence that Courtney recommended. I love it for dewy, fresh faced skin. And I don’t know how much it does anti-aging wise, but it leaves my skin all glowy and fresh, almost wet-looking (in a good way!). I will write a longer review (and talk about snail mucin as an ingredient) but you use this before your other serums. You can also layer it under a sheet mask to really lock it in.

I’ve been getting so much wear out of these raffia hoop earrings. They’re bold and fun but neutral; the perfect complement to a bright, colorful dress.

Theeeee best two dollar lip gloss. I love this! It’s perfectly non-sticky but glossy and the color (my shade is Love Language) reminds me so much of Charlotte Tilbury’s PIllow Talk gloss. I feel like nothing is $2 anymore.

This smocked blouse looks so much more expensive/fancy than it is. The perfect wear with everything top. I have the “apricot” which is more of a nudey-rose/peach and am probably going to buy a couple more colors.

This $29 button down looks like linen but it’s definitely not. It’s perfectly rumpled and soft, though!

And on the home front…

I have had my Chom Chom (pet hair roller) for years but Tyrion has been shedding even more than usual so find myself using this every day.

These over the shower door hooks are genius for hanging towels, wet swim suits… everything! They are particularly handy for when my boyfriend is here… I never have enough hooks for both of our robes, towels, etc. They are stainless steel + coated in rubber so there should be no rust or damage to your shower door.

Random but Jen got me hooked on these pens. They are all I want to write with anymore. The best best best. Buy them in bulk and thank me later.
