My Favorite DIY Baths + The Softest Towels Ever.

My Favorite DIY Baths + The Softest Towels Ever.

Today I’m excited to share three of my favorite DIY baths with you, in partnership with Wamsutta Ultra Soft Micro Cotton Bath Towels. These bath linens are luxurious but also a greener, safer choice. They’re produced in an eco-friendly facility using green energy which harnesses the power of the sun and the wind. They’re also Class A certified under OEKO-TEX 100, meaning they’re safe for baby’s skin too.

Pretty cool right? Selfishly I love them because the towels are SO soft – and stay that way even after many washes. They’re actually constructed to “bloom” in the wash so they get softer and fluffier – NOT hard and scratchy. The colors (all fifty of them!) last longer, too.

As an avid lover of baths (I take at least 3 or 4 baths a week), soft towels are a must for afterward! I like a big fluffy towel as oftentimes I get out of the bath, into a towel, and find myself reading for a while in bed. (That is my favorite secret weekend behavior. Yoga, a bath, and then getting back into bed in my towel!!!!) I’ve also been trying to do more DIY baths as the store bought ones can get a little pricy.

Let’s get into the baths, shall we!?

The Detox Bath

(This DIY bath was created by Sonya Dakar; Gwyneth Paltrow is a fan – or at least she was until she created her own bath soaks!)

  • One cup dead sea salts
  • One cup baking soda
  • 12 drops lavender or neroli essential oil
  • A few pinches of fresh or dried ginger.
Soak for 20 minutes. Dakar actually recommends NOT using any soap while doing this soak. Air dry and then slather your body in almond oil and then a layer of organic shea butter. AHH BLISS. Dakar recommends doing this twice a month.

Grace is sharing some DIY baths

The Sore Muscles Soak

  • 1/2 cup sea salt
  • 1/2 cup baking powder (be sure it’s aluminum-free!)
  • 1/4 cup Epsom Salts
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 12 drops Eucalyptus oil (you can use something else but I looove Eucalyptus after the gym.

Soak in the tub for 20 minutes, in the hottest water you can stand.

  2. Unfortunately, I don’t have a bathtub… But those towels seem amazing, I feel like towels are something that’s always needed because the old ones get ruined or stained or something happens and we end up throwing one away often so I’m definitely gonna look into those.

  3. I am an avid bath taker too, but I typically stick to bubble bath (the children’s mighty bubble to be exact-it’s so bubbly!). I’m excited to branch out and try these recipes! And those towels! They sound so amazing!

So I’ve been debating new towels (ours are mix-matched) and have seen better days and this is the type of review I needed, especially the way they’re made! my college experience can be summed up by me taking a shower, getting into bed in a towel and my roommate finding me asleep…oops

Thanks for taking into consideration such important things for partnership posts, Grace.

Hi, are the towels pictured here the off white color? I’ve been thinking about getting lighter colored towels (my current sets are both navy) but I think they may end up looking not-quite-right in my unfortunate rental bathroom. I was worried an ivory or off-white might look dingy, but I like how it looks here (if it is a light, non-white!). Thanks, Grace; love your blog! 🙂
