My Favorite Baths

Today felt like a good day to talk about baths as I know I’m planning on ending my day with a book and a big glass of wine in the tub. In fact, I love a bath and take one probably 5 days a week! For me, baths are not about getting clean. Let’s be clear: I shower to be clean, I bathe to relax. To me, baths are one of the most luxurious ways to wind down the day and relax… taking a bath just feels good! And while some of these soaks are a little pricy, taking a bath can also be free (or really cheap… def recommend reading my post with DIY baths to try or just buy six pounds of epsom salts, right this way!!!).

Someday I will have a beautiful standalone bathtub (it’s all I dream about when I envision my future home!) but for now I’ll settle for transforming my tiny Brooklyn bathroom into a mini oasis with a good book, one of my favorite soaks, and of course this lovely bath tray which will make you feel as though you’re at a hotel.

My Favorite Baths

I love a good detox bath to SWEAT (the Dr. Singha is amazing for that but the Kaia turmeric one is excellent too!). When my muscles are sore, I also tend to do a mineral soak (ideally with CBD (the Equilibria one is lovely and smells like lemongrass OR the Lord Jones one is fab and is simultaneously the best smelling lavender bath I’ve ever done). The rest of these baths don’t serve much of a purpose besides relaxation, hydration in some cases, and just smelling really really good.

  1. I wish I could take a bath right now – just need a bathtub, haha! I’ll save this for when I go on holiday…

I highly recommend any of the bath oils from Lola’s Apothecary, particularly the Breath of Clarity and Delicate Romance.

  3. When it gets cold, I tend to take more baths. I just ordered a new bath tray and a bunch of bath bombs. I need to check out the J.R. Watkins Bath Elixir.

Even though I’m Canadian, this is so needed because my anxiety is peaking for you guys right now…

And I also LOVE that you included Kaia! If you’re interested in trying another natural charcoal deodorant, theirs is really good!

    • Thank you!!!!! And I’ve tried the Kaia deodorant but it didn’t work for me. Natural deodorants are so tricky, it really depends so much upon your body’s chemistry.

I love the self-care focus this week, it is crucial. I’ve only recently (aka because of the pandemic) started appreciating baths. Especially now that it’s getting colder, and especially tonight with a drink and book. Big fan of Epsom salts for relaxing muscles!

Bookmarking this one – thank you! Also, an interesting read (while in the bath, perhaps?).

Is there something similar, that’s relaxing but for showers? Something that will work with the steam, etc for relaxation?

I’m a big fan of a bath. Sometimes I get so chilled I have to soak in a bath. (Showers wake me up, never at bedtime.). It’s such a simple way to relax. I have a variety of soaks and bubbles. I’ve been using Origins ginger shower gel. Makes great bubbles.

    Hey Grace!

I’ve been thinking about a bathtub tray for a long time, but I don’t have a bathtub with a deep side edge! How does this one balance so well on your left/more shallow side of the tub? Does it need to very carefully perched just so?

    Thanks!
    Jen 🙂
